Meet Ashley Berghuis, DDS

Dr. Ashley Berghuis grew up in southwest Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry. Ironically, Dr. Pechous was one of her instructors in prosthodontics during her time in dental school.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and former President of the Racine County Dental Society. Dr. Berghuis is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an achievement that only 6% of dentists have achieved. The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who value continued education and look to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. In order to achieve this award, dentists must complete 500 hours of continuing dental education and pass a comprehensive written exam. She has advanced training in Invisalign, Botox and Dermal fillers, implant prosthetics, surgery and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Berghuis not only values education in the field of dentistry but also believes patient education is essential to every dentist-patient relationship to not only maintain oral health, but also trust. She seeks to form long lasting dental relationships with her patients and their families. She has been nominated Best of Racine County and won either Best of Racine County or Hometown Favorite Dentist the last 8 years. Dr. Berghuis gives back to the community through various programs such as Give Kids a Smile Day, Mission of Mercy, Team Smile events and volunteers her time every year at local schools to educate children on the importance of oral health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Berghuis enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband Mark; a financial advisor in Kenosha; two children, Landon and Kinsley and their rescue dog, Riley. In her free time, she enjoys staying active through fitness, traveling, cheering on her favorite professional sports teams and most importantly, supporting her children at their many activities and sporting events.
